Quick Italian Seasoning

Quick, Easy and Delicious

This spice mix is a variation of the mix I use for my Spicy Italian Turkey Sausage Meatballs and Spagetti.

I used this to flavor half a pound of ground turkey with a pound of organic San Marzano tomatoes to make a sauce for pasta. I blanched the tomatoes, removed the seeds, then chopped them.  I then added a 15 oz can of whole black olives. This was added to a pound of cooked spaghetti. When served, I topped each serving with grated parmesan. There are some nice hard goat cheeses that work well, too.

The result was a quick and easy, light and flavorful week night dinner.

For a single meal:

  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion flakes
  • 1/2 tsp anise seeds, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbs fresh chopped Italian Parsley

Grind the anise in a pistle and mortar, then add all the other indreidents and blend together.

Add this to a half pound ground meet like Turkey, Chicken, or Beef.
